The summer has begun because the summer magazine is here
The day I have been longing for since January 1st is the day summer officially begins. Usually not until somewhere in mid-July. The day the sun shines brightly, skirts flutter, a tanned leg is spotted, and half of the Netherlands is off work. Look, I like Christmas. Enjoying wine early, chocolate in abundance, and (and this is the best part) the whole world being offline. But after that... I slog through a large mass of gray dullness and think of only one day. But then it's mid-July. A.k.a. summer vacation. A.k.a. not having to fill three lunch boxes (and fruit containers for that matter) and not having run a quarter marathon before you even open your laptop.

Today it is summer. And we celebrate that with a summer magazine. With a shoot that we actually planned on a day when the sun was shining. And that is quite a rarity to mention. Anyway. From now on, summer begins. A tiny period of about two months that I have actually been longing for seven months. You blink your eyes, turn around once more on your bed, and poof, summer is already over. I would say; enjoy it. Take what you can get.
And luckily we will always have the photos. They will help you through the winter, you know. I'm telling you.
Cheers, May.
