The voice of Holland

The Naklets in 6 pressing points

Good morning! I don't need to tell you what has happened during TVOH, because along with me, there were about two million seven hundred sixty-six thousand other people watching the blind auditions. But we do need a recap. Enormously.

1. The outfits

Look, I understand that the gentlemen and ladies producers want to record all the auditions first and later decide which auditions form the best mix for an episode. Then you ask your presenters and jury if they want to wear the same outfit every recording day. Yes, I'm also trying not to wonder how that clothing must smell by now. I get it, I understand it, I feel you, butrrr. Goodness me. I'm really done with Sanne's T-shirt and even Waylon's chains are starting to bore me. I think Wendy is very happy with her not-so-flashy look (which won't get boring so quickly) and the fact that her makeup was really top-notch. Anyway. Maybe a point to consider for next time. For the fashion-loving viewers among us. Even my daughters started talking about it.

2. The outfits II

What suddenly happened with the tight crop top? Didn't we leave that behind us? About six years ago? And what's up with the too-tight jeans? A skinny is okay, but we prefer the boyfriend or the jumpsuit a few sizes looser. Anyway. It's about the voice, of course, but my eye wants something too. It went here completely wrong, actually.

3. So I'm going to participate

Yes. Speaking of the voice. I'm going to sign up. Ali spoke to me yesterday. And Waylon too. Waylon didn't turn for Jennifer Cool (you know, the one who sang ‘I’m a Survivor’). She sang well, but he felt like someone was hitting him on the head every week. And Ali didn't turn (by the way, no one did) for Roxanne Hartog (the girl with the beautiful dark hair and red lipstick who also belonged to team too-tight jeans) and said: “I would rather turn for someone with a lesser voice.” Ali, wait for me. I'm coming.

4. They got that from us

Jennifer Cool (you know, the one from the head banging) said just before the audition that this was next level nerves. Look, Rens, she got that from you.

5. Waylon is a psychologist

You can say what you want about Waylon, but the man is gifted. With his voice and also with his comments. He turned for Romy Weevers (which is very coincidentally the sister of our former intern Chantalle so we are # proud) because he heard a tear. And because he wanted to give her peace. The man is great. Because there is a tear. You'll undoubtedly hear more about that.

6. But not just a psychologist

Or as Ali B put it: “When I say I know someone, it somehow has a very different weight than when Waylon says it.” And that's true. That Waylon, he doesn't sit still. Not in the chair, but also not outside of it.
