These emojis are the most used worldwide

And no, sorry Jet. I hate to say it, but it's not the avocado. Not the palm tree either, Renske. Twitter researched which symbols are most thrown into the world on the social media and in first place is? Drumroll…

The ‘laughing until you cry’ emoji. By the way, it's been like that for a few years. After a quick glance at my phone, I can conclude that I can also come up with something a bit less predictable. So from now on, I will only use the Inspector Gadget detective-like emoji. Is there ANYONE who has ever seen this emoji on their phone? The little guy with the hat and the magnifying glass? It's a revelation. That poor thing is never used, do something about it.

”Come on people, when on earth do you need to communicate with a strawberry?”

Okay, sidetracker, back to the research. The Twitter team also looked at what the most popular icon was per country. Now I have to speak to you a bit sternly, blue bird, because it's a bit of a shame that you skipped our kale country in the research. Our neighbors didn't, because we now know for example that the Germans give a ‘thumbs up’ the most and the French and Italians bombard each other with hearts. The inhabitants of England and America seem to be depressed little people, because the desperately crying emoji is used the most there.

Then let's move on to my favorite department: food. Worldwide, the cake is used the most (logical with birthdays), followed by my favorite pizza slice and then the strawberry. Which I actually NEVER use. Come on people, when on earth do you need to communicate with a strawberry? Or does the strawberry symbolize sexy time with whipped cream? Probably. In that case: I will send the strawberry more often...
