things I will regret later
In general, I see myself as a reasonably sensible person. I generally learn from my mistakes, have no debts, am insured, and oh, I'm not that often drunk either. But still, there are those things that I keep doing every time (or rather not doing) and of which I know that my older and wiser self will be enormously and incredibly regretful.
Smoke
To start with the worst. Smoking. God, how I wish I had never smoked that one first cigarette (by the way, my father will keep reminding me of this sentence until the end of time) and had never started and never had to quit. But well, that doesn't help us now and certainly not later. Because now the immediate effects are not that clear (except that it stinks and is ridiculously expensive), later, when I have the skin of a Shar-pei, I will curse myself so much for having smoked in the past. Dear people, never start smoking, it's not worth it.
Lying in the sun
In line with the previous point, my head is getting even more messed up because I love it so much to walk around with a tan. The time when I really spent full days baking in the sun with oil without SPF is thankfully behind me along with my puberty, but even with SPF, the warm sun is just not good for you. But that tan, huh, that tan is worth so much to me. And later they will surely be even better with plastic surgery and Botox and whatnot – I like to lie to myself about that.
Sleeping with makeup
God heavens, it's really a battlefield, because I also never remove my makeup before going to sleep. That I am not already walking through life heavily wrinkled is almost a miracle. But now that I have that tan, I don't wear makeup anymore, so actually, that sun I mentioned earlier isn't so bad after all. In girl logic, that is.
Not exercising
Or well, I've recently started boxing again twice a week but that's about it. Look, I can still watch my diet for three days and then everything will be okay again, but later those kilos will go straight to the hips and won't come off anymore. Unless you start now. But of course, I especially don't do that.
Not saving
If I had set aside 50 euros every month since my 18th birthday and 100 euros every month since my 25th, I would now have about €7200. SEVEN THOUSAND EUROS. Do you know how many shoes you can buy with that? And how many months you can travel with that? Man man man. By the way, I am improving this a bit now, the last few months I have been setting aside a significant portion into my savings account, but of course, I should have started that much, much earlier.
