THIS IS HOW YOU APPLY YOUR MAKEUP IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WAY
Brushes all overboard
At home, I have a jar with really I don't know how many brushes for all the tricks and all types of makeup. And yes, I love to powder with them. But secretly, I also find it a huge hassle to clean those things. They can stay dirty for months, and I only realize when I have a breakout on my face that it would have been handy to clean those brushes. But I've learned from it. Not that I clean the brushes more often now, no, I just apply makeup with my fingers. Lazy as I am, but I'm still quite happy with the result.
By coincidence, I came across a nice article about how classic fingertips are really not so crazy to use as a makeup tool. But how then, huh? Because while a brush finds its way on your face (somehow that always goes quite smoothly), you suddenly think better with your fingers and it can go a bit wrong if you're not a natural talent. Well, not anymore. These are the go-do-this-tips with which you actually don't need a brush anymore.*
“With your ring finger, you can dab the color on the middle point of your lip towards the outside”
Golden rule: always wash your hands. So also after petting your dog that you think is perfectly clean, also after putting on your outfit, and also when you just came out of the shower and have sprayed a scent. Just, always.
Lips
If you just take the lip balm straight out of the tube or apply the color directly from the bullet, then you obviously don't need to read further. But blurred lips are everything. And fingers are of course perfect to achieve that. With your ring finger, you can dab the color on the middle point of your lip towards the outside. The color is then beautifully distributed, but just a little more intense in the middle section. Works very nicely and also gives a beautiful texture.
Eyes
If you don't want to apply a dramatic smokey look, you can also apply eyeshadow perfectly with your fingers. With your middle finger, you work from the middle to the outside, and with your pinky, you add lighter accents in the corners. It will look beautiful.
“Actually, you've immediately put a massage tool to work”
Face
That's what I do. I apply primer and foundation apply it as if I’m applying my facial cream. This way, it gets beautifully distributed and I can massage it well into my skin. It also looks very natural right away. Very nice. Oh, and you also don't get any streaks. That's a nice bonus. For concealer, you put on dots, but with your ring finger, you can also massage it beautifully. The blood circulation is then immediately set to work, which helps calm your skin. And that manifests itself in a clear gaze. Actually, you've immediately put a massage tool to work.
Cheeks
With your ring finger, you can perfectly apply blush on your cheeks. It looks very natural, and you don't have to worry about overdoing it. Plus, you can blend it out even more naturally.
*No brush needed anymore? Well, don't take it too literally, because I haven't found a way to completely powder my face with my fingers yet. So if you have a tip; feel free, then that powder brush can finally undergo a big clean-up.
