THIS SAYS YOUR DESK ABOUT YOU

Maybe a little earlier to the office tomorrow?

There is quite a division here in the office types of desks. Jet is really the ultimate messy person in the office and that you can actually find anything on her desk is quite miraculous. May is a bit in between. Quite tidy, but with some cozy little messes here and there, which can comfortably sit for months without being touched. And I consider myself to belong to the minimalist camp, because I prefer a desk that is as clean as possible. How your desk looks apparently says something about your personality. Exciting, but it reveals a lot. Just take a look below.

The minimalist desk

Oh my god. I am really not going to maintain the minimalist style on my desk anymore. Elke and I immediately pushed some books onto our desks and lit a candle. If you have an extremely minimalist desk, then you work and live according to the less is more-rule. If you have as few things as possible on your desk and also in the workplace, then you are not a huge doer. You focus on the things that are really important, only respond to emails that are personally addressed to you, and only do what is absolutely necessary. You are a quiet force during meetings and take neat notes, but all last minute. Whether minimalism is very positive this time? I doubt it.

The collector

Your desk is one big collection. You have a lot of notes lying on your desk (even from yeeeears ago), a stack of coffee cups that can no longer be cleaned, and piles of paper that you actually never look at. Oh, and the desk drawers are actually collection projects and display cases in themselves. You just want a lot. In work, it's really exactly the same. You want to tackle everything and you enjoy embracing new projects. But in that too, you are again the collector. You are enthusiastic about everything, but you don't really know where to start. You come across as super chaotic, but very little comes out of your hands. You comfortably put that in the evening hours, so you do finish your work, but it takes a while.

The technical desk

Only technical gadgets on your desk? You let technology do the work. Smart, it is of course the future. Moreover, you really make a huge impression with your desk. A technical drawing pen, a special screen with the latest tricks and exciting gadgets. And because technology is the future, you are quite important as an employee for everyone. But to help and communicate with everyone, you are really too busy for that. You prefer to dive into all those technical codes. If there is a meeting, you throw in quite a few difficult words. You make an impression, but it is difficult to bond with everyone. You are the best in productivity, but communicatively you could still learn a bit.

The documented desk

Elke and I have shifted our desk style to this style. From minimalist, we have bombarded ourselves to extremely documented. You really want to have everything in your life under control. You are an advocate of to-do lists. On your desk, you also like the necessary organization. There can certainly be something cozy, so you are not averse to a little photo and some nice candles, but unnecessary messes immediately go in the trash. In work, you are just as organized. You are a very sociable type who never forgets a birthday, values lunches with colleagues, and tries to make a party out of everything. But you are also always very well prepared. In a meeting, you write like crazy, you email everyone with the latest agreements, and make sure something is arranged before you are asked.

The messy person

You really have a very messy desk full of plants, nice cards with quotes, and candles. If you look closely, between the piles of papers and unopened envelopes, you can see all that fun. Everything under the guise of the relaxed life. You radiate that too, because you are super optimistic, give good feedback, and have positive ideas. But, that laid-back attitude, you are also a bit like that at work. You send cute cat videos all day, but meeting a deadline is not really your thing. Deadlines? No, you don't really know that word.
