WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

by Theo Bakana

It's Friday again, the week is over, we have all forty lined up for you... Oh wait, wrong channel. Yes, here we are again. So it's Friday again, the second of December to be precise, and there are plenty of fun things to do this weekend. So, buckle up, here it comes.

Kerstmis komt eraan

This weekend you might still be busy with poetry, ginger nuts, and putting the finishing touches on your surprise for the delightful evening on Monday. But after that, we really can't ignore it anymore: Christmas is coming. Here at the editorial office, the first Christmas issues have long been in circulation, and starting this weekend you can also go to the Christmas market in Maastricht. Complete with an indoor ice rink, Ferris wheel, and Limburg traditions. So get that ugly Christmas sweater out of the mothballs and head south.

Binge-watching deluxe

Not quite in the Christmas spirit yet or do you prefer to stay indoors when the temperature drops? I can imagine, so an afternoon of binging is the best. Of course, you don't have to do this at home, because a trip to the cinema can be easily planned. Especially since Tom Ford's new film has premiered. His previous film ‘A Single Man’ is one of my favorites, and I think this one will also be high on the list. ‘Nocturnal Animals’ is about a couple that makes very exciting revelations about each other. According to critics, you'll be on the edge of your seat. Not such a thrill-seeker? Then Soof 2 is also a really fun alternative.

“So, buckle up, here it comes.‘

Blijdorp Festival

Are you already looking forward to the festival season in the summer? No worries, because this weekend you can polish your dancing shoes and head to the Blijdorp Festival. You don't have to worry about getting cold, because the festival is held in the old Van Nelle factory in Rotterdam. And with the DJs spinning, it looks like you won't be able to stay still.

High tea royal

If you're going to spin pirouettes on the ice rink at the Museumplein in Amsterdam this weekend, but you don't feel like warming up with hot chocolate? Then go to The Dutchess. Definitely one of the most beautiful restaurants in Amsterdam, and besides dinner, they serve a delicious high tea there. Think macarons, bonbons, sandwiches, and a glass of champagne to toast the weekend. Do I need to say more?

I think you have plenty to do over the next two days, have a great weekend already! And as Adeline would say: goodbye and thank you.
