Wat te doen dit weekend

by Theo Bakana

Finally, we can say it again: it's the weekend. The workweek is over, the glasses are (hopefully) filled, and we can enjoy two days of freedom. I'm going to join May-Britt for the course ‘How to organize your workweek’, but luckily our lovely Annick was sweet enough to step in.

Yes, this week I'm taking over from Theo and I get to share the best weekend activities with you. Because of course, you can stay inside all weekend to binge all the Netflix series (I've done that often enough and enjoyed it intensely), but you can also go out. I'll tell you where all the action is this weekend.

Ice* Amsterdam

Yes, the ice rink at Museumplein in Amsterdam is open again. For the next three months, you can skate to your heart's content, drink as much hot chocolate as you want, or snuggle up to your date. And you can't start early enough. So get your skates out this weekend, put on a thick sweater, and head to Museumplein. By the way, an umbrella is not a luxury this weekend.

And good news for you: we are giving away 5 x 2 tickets. Respond with your best weekend tip under our Facebook post and who knows, you might soon be gliding on your skates.

IDFA

Would you rather stay inside to watch a movie? Then the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam is definitely worth it. Here, the most beautiful, funniest, and most interesting documentaries are shown in various cinemas in Amsterdam until November 27. On average, more than 50 documentaries are screened per day, so the excuse that there's nothing for you doesn't apply this time. So hop, get out of your house to sink into the seats of Tuschinski.

Crazy Closet Sale

In the mood to shop and want to be sure that only nice items are hanging? Then the Crazy Closet sale by fashion girls Vivian Hoorn (you know, our prettiest house photographer with a sense of style that you can't ignore), Kae Sutherland, and Claartje Rose is the place to be on Sunday. There will be designer clothes, lemonade, candies, and fun. Don't worry if you have to wait a bit longer before you can go inside, they will also restock the clothes during the sale. They sell everything in sizes XS to L, and prices range from €5 to €125. Bring your piggy bank, because you can only pay cash. If you follow Amayzine a bit, you know you want this clothing. See you on Sunday?

Georgie’s Wintergarten

Guys, the weekend must be celebrated, so I'm forcing everyone to go dancing tonight. And if you also want to meet our Elke (I say: do it), then you have to be here. This festival started today, lasts two days, and is a true winter paradise. Is there anything better than music, campfires, and glühwein for this cold Friday night? Call your girlfriends (or your lover) and head to Ruigoord. Because that's where the fun (okay okay, obvious) is.

That’s it for this time. And do you have any tips for next weekend? Let Theo know via theo@amayzine.com. And for now: happy weekend!
