The four women of Formula 1

So there I was, suddenly watching Formula 1 on Sunday. My dear beloved has been trying for fifteen years to get me ‘into Formula 1’. Moreover, the start was at a decent time and Max Verstappen was racing for Red Bull for the first time (but still with a Renault engine).

So there I was. In my own front row. And I wasn't getting off. Tea was replaced by wine, there was diving behind cushions, I heard someone (but maybe it was me) screaming, my daughter started drawing a race car and suddenly everyone was on the couch. ’Out of control' is an understatement, what a party, I was practically in it and so I poured myself another drink.

My entertainment heart also skipped a beat because who did I suddenly see ‘backstage’ (what do you call that in racing?) with a big fat headset on? Gerri Halliwell! There she was, older, more normal, and prettier. And then I suddenly remembered the old equation; Formula 1 = money = so masses of beautiful women. I dove into it and present to you, drumroll, the coolest women in Formula 1.

Geri Halliwell

There she was again. Ginger Geri. So she is suddenly married to Christian Horner, the boss of the International Red Bull Racing Team and thus the boss of Max. Did you hear someone congratulate Max over the intercom after the race? That was Christian. And Geri is not one to shy away from anything in her life. She has been an aerobics instructor, a nude model, a Spice Girl, and now a wife. And a nice girl too.

Anna Rafaela Bassi

 Anna is the wife of Felipe Massa and not only is she stunningly beautiful, she also has taste. And a career. Something that I notice in Formula 1 women. These are not just well-filled coat hangers like we sometimes see in other sports, I won't name names. They have guts, and a job. Anna has her own clothing line that you can find under the name Guarana Brasil.

Lara Alvarez

Don't hold me to it, but it could very well be that Lara is now having a serious relationship with Fernando Alonso. If Fernando isn't busy with another model like Dasha Kapustina, for example. And if Lara isn't sniffing around Sergio Ramos, because under her cover as a ‘sports journalist’, Lara picks up the cutest boyfriends. Anyway. She is gorgeous, has a great Instagram account, and a body that doesn't need a pit stop for a touch-up.

Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky

Make way for our Max's girlfriend! This is anything but a pit stop princess, she races herself too. And quite successfully, by the way. Which isn't very surprising, because all direct family members of Mikaela and Max excel in top performances on the kart track. Here it comes: the father of Max is Jos Verstappen (but if you didn't know that, you must have been living under a rock), but Max's mother is also a well-known kart racer. Plus: Mikaela's grandfather once won Paris-Dakar, and her father, mother, and brother also race. So boy oh boy, it's going to be something when Mikaela and Max have kids. Count your winnings.
