Fun & Famous
WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR MAGAZINES
In my house, there is, lies, and hangs a rather crazy collection of magazines. Some are really 15 years old, but I once saw something beautiful in them and so I can't throw them away. I think I have a good 6 years’ worth of ELLEs, all the Dutch Vogues, hundreds of American and English variants, and stacks and stacks of LINDA.s.
That's fun, but they take up a ridiculous amount of space. And that's less fun. But instead of just throwing them away, there are a lot of other fun things you can do with them, and that's a lot less wasteful of your beautiful glossy magazines.
Stacking
In a magazine (oh the irony), I once saw side tables made from magazines. So you stack a whole bunch on top of each other, bind them with a belt or rope or something to keep them together and voilà: a side table is born. Or, also fun: make two large stacks, secure them well, and then place a glass top on it that can serve as a desk.
Framing
In my room at my parents' house, I had a wall that was completely covered with ads and series from Vogues and ELLEs. Because I found them so beautiful. I wouldn't do that so quickly now (it does look a bit messy), but what is a nice idea is to frame all the prettiest ones nicely, with a passe-partout, and then create a beautiful photo wall from them.
Packing
Stop buying wrapping paper! Wrap all your gifts in beautiful photo series from the magazines. Much more creative and definitely a great idea for fashion-loving friends.
