WORTHLESS EYELASHES?

This is what causes it

There is now an insane trend going on that clumps in your eyelashes  (read: those glued-together clumps from mascara) are totally on trend. But hey, not everyone is Peter Phillips and can create that like a pro. And honestly; not everyone is (damn it, three taps from me) up to date with the latest trends in the beauty world. So just zigzag neatly and clean your eyelashes well, then you play it safe. This often goes wrong and before you know it, you have no eyelashes hanging on your eyes.

Away with fake

I have a colleague whom I know very very well has fake lashes. I've been trying to talk her out of it for months. Of course, you wake up every morning with the prettiest face, of course, it's damn handy when you go on vacation, and of course, it works pretty quickly in the morning if you don't have to deal with mascara as well. But your natural eyelashes only get thinner and even fall out. And at some point, the fakes start to itch, you pull some out, and it gets inflamed. No way, you don't want that kind of stuff. Then a little mascara is just a lot easier.

Curl those eyelashes

You have to do that beforehand and not when you already have a layer of mascara on. Because then your eyelashes are hard and molded. If you mess with them afterwards, it's clear that the eyelashes will break. So start with curling, because then you'll also enjoy it.

Mascara past its expiration date

It seems like an expired mascara can't do much harm, but in the meantime, bacteria are happily nesting in there, giving them more time to build their empire. Just throw that mascara away. You don't want those bacteria in your eyes, because that can only cause trouble and infections.

Make-up remover

An oil-based cleanseris the best for your eyes. You can easily wipe away mascara with it, and often they also nourish the eyelashes, making them bloom and grow stronger. Think of it as a conditioner for your hair. You really can't miss that.

Taken from someone else

Always use your own mascara. You never know how long the other person has had it and whether they have had an infected eye. That can also be transmitted through mascara, you know.
