YOU CAN SERVE THIS
AT A BABY SHOWER
My friend group is currently in the cohabitation phase, not yet in the baby phase. Josselin is already in the baby phase, at least her friends are, so she attends a baby shower every month. Recently, she even organized one for her sister.
“A baby shower has of course something incredibly uncozy and something silly, but it can also be very cool and cozy,” says May. I think so too. You can dress it up ridiculously with lots of balloons and light pink stuffed animals, but you can also just organize a dinner or lunch with an insanely cool set table. Just leave that to Josselin. Here you read the do’s & don’ts of decorating a baby shower.
I’m going to talk about the snacks here. Also not unimportant. I’m a bit done with the pink candy canes and the light blue cupcakes. And you definitely shouldn’t work with Blue Curaçao – better no blue on the table, but other lovely colors are fine. There should definitely be something sweet on the table, but it can also be a bit fancier, don’t you think? I’ll give you some examples.
– Eaton mess, here you see the recipe. The tastiest dessert on earth and it’s also light pink.
– Then I also have a raspberry cheesecake.
– I think lemonade looks nice (add a splash of vodka for yourself if you want), especially if you make it yourself. Put the juice of one lime, a box of cleaned strawberries, a spoon of honey, and a splash of water in a food processor and blend everything well together. You can strain it well, but that’s not necessary if you like a bit of pulp. Dilute with sparkling water and buy nice straws.
– I also think Crodino is a very nice non-alcoholic drink. Serve it in a champagne glass with a mint leaf.
– Crudité is fun because it has a lot of different colors. Make strips of raw vegetables and place everything on a cheerful platter, serve it with hummus that you’ve blended a bit of beetroot into. It gives it an immediately cute color.
– Blueberries are nice in a small bowl with homemade granola. Or what do you think of these “blue” recipes with blueberries?
– At the greengrocer, you can often buy carrots in all sorts of colors. Also carrots that have a bit of a dark blue color. Make very thin slices of them, place them on a baking sheet, and sprinkle everything with oil and salt. Bake them for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. Let them cool down a bit and then they are deliciously crispy.
– Don’t forget the blue M&M’s? I don’t find those childish, you know.
