The belly bag is back

Of course, fashion repeats itself. Or fashion reinvents itself. But some trends, I don't know, I thought we had left them behind. The skort for example (if you were born after the eighties, you don't know what I'm talking about and I can tell you that you should be glad about that). Yes, I am old.

The belly bag is something different. It has never really been in fashion at all. It was worn by the same people with a great love for zip-off pants and foldable sunglasses. You know what I mean, right? A sunglass layer that you slide over your regular glasses and that you can fold horizontally forward when the sun isn't shining anymore.

The belly bag was worn by people you could also just run into with their backpack on their belly. People who found it very exciting to go on vacation and actually during a walk along the Amsterdam canals were already seriously considering the possibility of being robbed and kidnapped.

Well, that bag is now in. We already saw it cautiously passing by at the Chanel show, but at that time I thought it was just a creative outburst from the fashion house. But now there was the Instagram tsunami from Coachella and every cool girl had a belly bag. The worst part of this story is that I actually quite like it and you will undoubtedly see me walking around with it in a month or so (after I have tried to deny this trend, but have failed to do so).
