Why a lip liner
It is the primer for your foundation or the base coat for your nail polish: the lip liner. Forget the horror images from the ’90s, because a lip liner is the foundation of your perfectly painted lips. That I am a diehard MAC fan you all know by now. Normally, ‘Oh Honey’ has a special place in my bag. But because our friends at MAC came out with a Caitlyn Jenner line again this year, my beloved lip pencil is being dethroned and ‘Whirl’ is currently my absolute favorite. I combine it with the Velvet Teddy lipstick or just a basic lip balm. With this color, which is a shade darker than my own lips, I can fake my way to lips like Angelina Jolie in no time.
And these are the ten reasons why you should also use a lip liner.
- They give you fuller lips.
- But if you have too full lips (uhh, can that even be?), you can also use a lip liner to make your lips a bit narrower.
- The line ensures that your lipstick or lip gloss doesn't bleed.
- Do you have thin or uneven lips? With a light line, you can naturally create a fuller and more defined set of lips in no time.
- The extra waxy layer that forms when you apply lip liner acts like a kind of tape, making your lipstick stick better and longer.
- If you forget your lipstick, you can fill in your liner with the pencil: voilà matte lipstick.
- You won't have to check your lipstick all evening, as it will stay put all night.
- If, like me, you are allergic to the stickiness of lip gloss, the combination of lip liner/lip balm is a match made in heaven.
- You can use a lip liner for a long time, which is also nice for your wallet.
- If you combine your lip liner with a different color lipstick, you create a completely different color.
