9X THE MOST ROMANTIC VALENTINE'S RESTAURANTS IN LONDON
While we are still cleaning up the mess from last weekend, the next one is already around the corner. Fashion Week And this time I get to go to London with my single lady Elke. And it just happens to be around Valentine's Day. A reason to book a table for two at one of the most romantic hotspots in my city.
If you don't have plans for Valentine's yet (only 13 days to go, girlfriend), then arrange a ticket now and book a table. This is where you need to be for a good dose of love on your plate.
1. Booking Office
This restaurant is part of one of the most beautiful hotels in London, St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. A fairytale. Enjoy fine dining and definitely save room for the Ladies Smoking Room dessert, served under a classic silver cloche filled with jasmine smoke.
2. Ormer
For true old-school glamour, you need to be at the underground restaurant Ormer. Start your romantic dinner with a glass of champagne straight from the vintage trolley and take a plate of sliced Iberico ham right to your nose. Your love will be speechless, trust me.
3. The Balcon
A fairytale. I can't say more about it. French cuisine with a British twist. Local products are used, such as scallops from Scotland and meat from British cattle. And uh, Elke, a bottomless champagne afternoon tea, in the spirit of Wet February, what do you say?
4. Sky Garden
For the best sky view of London, you need to be here. Early dinner with a sunset over London? I don't know, Mr. Perfect, I want it.
5. Yauatcha
Not in the mood for overly sweet romance but more for dark, cool, and underground? Then book a table at Yauatcha. Skip the main courses and go for small plates of dim sum. All-time favorites. And here too: never skip dessert. Yauatcha has its own pastry department and is known for its award-winning puddings.
6. London Shell Co. aboard The Prince Regent
There is no better place in London to eat your oysters than here. The absolute best part? You're sitting on a boat, which can also be booked for a dinner combined with a river cruise. Dining while sailing past Big Ben and the London Eye. It doesn't get much more romantic than this.
7. Brasserie Zédel
A bit less chic, but certainly not less fun. This brasserie is located near Piccadilly Circus and besides the fact that you can eat fantastic Mediterranean food here, you will also be entertained with live music, cabaret, or stand-up comedy. Two birds with one stone.
8. The Cinnamon Club
Do you know that famous library scene from Beauty and the Beast? If you, like me, are a huge bookworm or just dream of your own library room (yes!), then you must have eaten here. That's right, you nibble on your thousand-and-one-night wonderfully fragrant curry among the bookshelves and huge wooden ladders. Indian cuisine as it should be. With an award in hand.
9. Clos Maggiore
Save the best for last. And now I have to make you happy with a dead bird. Because the chance here is 0.01 percent that you will still get a table for February 14th. This is London's most romantic restaurant and the waiting list is six months. Ouch. But yes, then you know exactly what you need to do for February 14, 2018.
Mr. Perfect, I still have Tuesday, February 14 open. And otherwise: Elkie, shall we go a few days earlier?
