BEAUTY TRENDS FROM NEW YORK
May gave you an update on the models and looks that paraded down the runway, on the New York streets, and, not to forget, at Tommy Land in LA. But we also need to talk about the beauty looks that complemented all that beauty.
The hair
The locks were almost nonchalant in a messy braid or bun on top of the head. The loose braid was seen at Creatures of Comfort, thankfully without an ugly elastic. But what was the real showstopper? Pastel hair don’t care. On the street, on the runway; the locks provided a cheerful touch to the winter scene on the New York street.
The eyes
The eyeliner or pencil can come out of the (cool) fridge. At the Victoria Beckham show, it was a grey-ish line, but also the more graphic shape in a striking blue and huge green walked the runway at Prabal Gurung. And never out of fashion: the black smudgy eyeliner at the afterparty show of Alexander Wang.
the locks provided a cheerful touch to the winter scene on the New York street.
The lips
Yes, they go all out with the eyes, but the lips must not be forgotten either. Thank goodness there was red, because I can't do without it. But the lips also went pretty in pink, which you can get with the latest Valentine Lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury. And at the La Perla show, Kendall Jenner walked the runway with burgundy on her lips as the final touch.
The brows
And the most, most important: the brows. They are still thick and firm, but it can all be a bit less tight. So give them a bushy and natural look from now on.
The extras
A little pearl in the corner of the eye at Jonathan Simkhai, cartoonish eyelashes at Jeremy Scott, pink, pink, and pink, but also a political statement. And you can definitely call it a statement when you send Bella Hadid down the runway in a T-shirt with the text ‘Female is Future’.
