Blondes really do have more fun
So Anna Drijver proves once again
So the big news is finally out. If you thought that all brilliant series on Netflix only came from the magic wands of people in Hollywood, then you are mistaken. We Dutch and Belgians can do it too, because there is a fantastic series on the way, starring Dutch pride Anna Drijver. Undercover is the name, and yes, Anna also decided that this was the ideal moment to make a drastic change to her look that also fits her role in the series. She became (and still is) part of Team Blond. And the mastermind behind that big hair transformation, and especially behind maintaining it, is Floor Kleyne – a familiar face at Amayzine due to her hair magic and also the lady who is responsible for May's bangs.
Let's go back to last summer when Annabelle and I visited Anna at DRAAGBAAR in Amsterdam-East, Floor's salon. Anna, who had just graced the cover of our Amayzine Paris Issue Magazine with her signature dark locks, came for a touch-up because going from dark to blonde requires the right maintenance. And the key to that is working with Olaplex, something I must admit I wasn't familiar with (being a hair dye virgin).
In short, Olaplex is a tool for your hair and not a hair dye (more on that later), that protects, lightens, and colors your hair. What does it do? It restores all broken sulfur bridges in your hair (which determine the lasting shape of your hair). This breakage can occur due to chemical treatments (dyeing, of course) or by styling and managing your hair. Olaplex works against this and tries to prevent damage by keeping your hair healthy. You can color your hair without any worries. By the way, it is a three-step treatment where you have steps one and two done at the hairdresser; you do step three yourself at home.
But back to the blondie. For her role in Undercover, Anna decided it was time to do something with her hair, which usually isn't easy with the work she does. It was also quite a drastic change, considering that it needs to be well maintained. And that’s where Floor comes in, who colors Anna's locks about every three months to ensure that it looks exactly the same for the series, as filming such a series is naturally spread over a longer period.
What is especially important for Floor when coloring Anna's hair is that she ensures continuity in the hair color, but also in depth. So yes, you know the image of that woman at the hairdresser with a head full of aluminum foil; that's how she looks every time. And also a tip that is quite obvious but often not followed: if you really want to go from dark hair to blonde, have it done by a professional. Often the color turns out differently, and instead of a blonde cut, you might end up with something that leans more towards an orange hue if you try it yourself. Also, keep in mind the fast regrowth. It's a better idea to spend money on an experienced professional who can also help you protect your hair (an Olaplex treatment, for example), and then you'll really understand that we blondes, we really do have more fun.
You understand: after May decided to leave team blond, I am incredibly happy with Anna as a replacement. Keep it secret, Anna.
