Buckets of rain are pouring from the sky. The curtains are already open, but from bed I witness the violence of Mother Nature, which is now also accompanied by enormous flashes and rumbling sounds. My head is heavy. Yes, that’s what you get after a dinner at Il Buco where water and especially a lot of bubbly wine is served. We were at my absolute number 1 when it comes to restaurants on ‘our’ island yesterday. It was already raining steadily then, but we were dry and well under a canopy. And that with a glass of prosecco and plates full of pasta, burrata, and other delicacies from the Italian kitchen. Oh, oh, Il Buco, you steal my heart time and again.

The wedding season is far from over. In a week we are leaving for France, a few weeks later I will fly to Belgium, and then there is also a wedding in Amsterdam. This year we count five. And that means for us not only a lot of flying, but especially for me with tremendous urgency to find new swirly dresses suitable for every theme. In search of ‘summer chic’, I went out on Thursday. I wore all sorts of things. From top and skirt to off-shoulder floral gown and to jumpsuit in sky blue. In the end, it became something in mustard yellow, swirly and with a high slit. And then there was the grease stain that I had overlooked in my haste and somewhat discouragement. So: I can go back today. Through that same rain as previously described, and then you really do feel a bit annoyed that you live on the other side of the river.

I felt that way again this weekend, walking through the South of Houston: Soho. We casually discover Oficina 1M, an amazing spot in the midst of the busy Soho chaos. Besides the fact that it looks cozy, the food is also divine. Pasta. Burrata. Heirloom tomatoes. Nothing can bother us anymore.
