Bold moves in love
On Valentine's Day, nothing was delivered for me at the editorial office. Simoon received a bouquet of thirty red roses from a secret admirer, and Annabelle (Bellie ) was also surprised with a beautiful bouquet from her love, and all the non-single girls at the editorial office had a pretty good time that day. And me? I just ate all the chocolate that happened to be lying around the office. Secretly also okay, because Dolly Parton once said: ‘My weaknesses have always been food and men – in that order.’ So that bar of Tony’s and I were having a great time.
Well, those red roses eventually did arrive, you know. This week to be exact, and I have to tell you: I found it quite a bold move. Not that sending flowers is anything new, but the story in short: weekend + drinks + nice conversations with an unknown man = sending flowers with the question if I want to meet up for a drink soon. As a hopeless romantic, I find that of course the most fun.
So, in the category of romantic and creative gestures in the name of love or loving, here are some from your editors:
Simone
Yes, yes, that trip to Barcelona, do you remember that story? (Read here but.) Then you really have guts, surprising someone you just met with a weekend away. And another thing that makes a woman's heart beat a little faster: that famous blue box. She just received it during her first Christmas with her brand new love. Love it.
Look
My favorite little person loves small gestures. Her boy always surprises her unexpectedly with sweet cards, flowers, or fills their fridge with products they always ate when they just met. Ahhh, love really does go through the stomach, right?
Lilian
With everything involving her dog Nola, Lil is completely over the moon. So when she and her boy had an anniversary to celebrate and he came back with Nola and a heart balloon attached to her leash including a gift, she was once again completely in love.
Every
He had hidden post-its everywhere with mini love letters when he went abroad for work. For my birthday, he secretly had me driven around by a chauffeur past my favorite spots in the city. He also once surprised me with concert tickets for my favorite bands that hardly anyone else knows. I even once received a record player as a gift; actually, anything related to music makes me head over heels in love.
