Chance of wine
Come on Adeline, it's not even noon yet. Yes, I know, I know. But I've discovered something cool and you just want to make a pit stop here. In Amsterdam. I find it quite unique that I've been hanging around our capital for just six days and suddenly discovering hotspots. Apparently, it does something to you, but I promise you this is something you want to come to our metropolis for. Because if you go here, there's a chance of wine. Lots of wine.
On the corner of Overtoom and Zocherstraat, wine café Rayleigh & Ramsay opens today at 11 o'clock. I say: lie down on that sidewalk, because this is where you want to be. You drink wine by the sip (but a big sip), by the half glass, or you just take the whole shebang. And you fill that glass yourself, so no one looks down their nose disapprovingly when you drink a fresh white with a typical red snack.
How does it work? On your Rayleigh & Ramsay card, you load ten, fifty, a hundred, or three euros (really, the best wine card on earth), just choose your amount for the drinks. Taste some favorites, which you can easily tap by putting your card in the dispenser and just keep tasting. The menu features nice bites, shared dining, and occasionally a plate, but all honest and pure in taste. And you can also join for a good cup of coffee or a beer, but they have a hundred (HUNDRED) wines. Just sayin’. Go check it out yourself, because I think it's awesome. Simone thinks so too, by the way, she never wanted to go home again. If you want to clink glasses with her; she's going back on Sunday. And I just think that Rayleigh & Ramsay are our new friends for the Friday afternoon drinks.
