How is it going with Linda Evans
Well... Not so great.
Last week I promised a juicy piece about Jennie Garth. In my quest for Heather Locklear (just look at how she is doing), I came across some less flattering pictures of our Jen. You know, Kelly from Beverly Hills 90210. But actually, the downfall of Jennie isn't that bad. She had gained a few pounds, about twenty I guess. But she reacted so nonchalantly to it – “I fell off the workout train” – that I can't really find anything wrong with that. She's a nice mother with a nice husband. A bit round, but hey, what's exactly wrong with that? here To treat you to a shot of sleaze, I went looking for fallen stars. Alyssa Milano maybe? You know, the one from Who’s the Boss? Absolutely fine. Still just as beautiful, married, kids, and also very active for poor children in Africa. Jessica Simpson was also a bit off the path and had a wardrobe malfunction, but if you look at her Instagram, you can only love her. Nice husband, beautiful girls, and that figure is at least as tight as it was back then.
What to do? I thought of Linda Gray, you know, Sue Allen. I expected a little AA story there. What do I see? A stunning older woman. No clouds in the sky. One thing led to another and I thought: let me research Linda Evans. She must have become a beautiful older lady. And there I had it. Bingo. Because with our Lin, things are not going so well.
Just in case you are ten (or twenty) years younger than me; I suddenly felt old.
Long, long ago, somewhere in the eighties, everyone was captivated by the series Dynasty and in it, Linda Evans played the role of Krystle Carrington, the loving wife of Blake Carrington. You couldn't find anyone more beautiful and refined. Of course, she had a few romances. She was married to John Derek, who later ran off with Bo Derek. After that, Linda had another relationship, but it didn't last. After Dynasty, there were no big roles anymore, Linda had vague health complaints and struggled with depression. So much so that she later admitted in a TV interview that she wanted to commit suicide. A few years ago, she was arrested by the police because she was suspected of driving under the influence. It all made a particularly shaky impression, but according to her management, it was due to pills she was taking for back pain.. Linda is now 74 years old and I hope for a real, real-life version of Blake Carrington. Because if anyone had everything to gracefully grow old, it was Linda.
