How is Heather Locklear doing?
Well... not so great
How we got there, we got there, but suddenly Heather Locklear was the topic of conversation. Once the woman I wanted to be. Once. Because one Google image later and I was cured. Speaking of sliding.
The once radiant Sammy Jo (hellooo, Dynasty) and Amanda Woodward (do you still miss Melrose Place?) have somewhat sagged and expanded, despite a close relationship with Dr. Botox. I dove into the archives because now I wanted to know how it all came to be.
It all started as you would expect from a Hollywood star. A fling with Tom Cruise, a marriage to Tommy Lee, and then a long affair, engagement, and a child with Richie Sambora. The marriage never happened (maybe she had read this post with reasons not to marry), because then, then, then Heather suddenly fell in love with Jack Wagner. Remember? The bad guy from Melrose Place, Peter Burns, whom she eventually married in the series. That one. She started dating him in 2007, but they broke up in 2011.
He didn't really make her happy. Especially not in 2008. That year, Heather was arrested for driving under the influence. Her agent suggested it was due to side effects of medication, but she was still sentenced to a $700 fine. In March of that same year, someone called 911 because they, posing as her doctor, said she was ‘suicidal’. A few months later, she checked into a clinic to be treated for anxiety and depression. Four years later, in 2012, her sister called 911 because she saw danger in Heather's drinking and drug use. According to E! Online, she would have checked into rehab five times in nine years. Heather herself shows a good sense of euphemisms and says she ‘regularly seizes the opportunity to improve herself.’.
So you see; not everything that glitters is gold. One thing led to another and then I stumbled upon another fallen star: Jennie Garth. But more about that, dear friends, next week. I feel a new column coming.
