Good scent
(our summer favorites)
You know, of course, that I am on a quest for the scent And because you can only be chased by a wasp or another buzzing creature for something incredibly good, I will uncover the finest summer scents for you. First of all, from your editors, which I will just reveal to you (you’re welcome), but you will also hear the classics from your favorite perfume houses.
Sui Dreams by Anna Sui
Through the bottle, you are immediately on a coconut beach, so blue. Sui Dreams is the perfect mix of citrus and fruity, but truly also innocent. If your nose picks up such a blend, there’s a chance that our Elke is sitting a few meters away from you with a cocktail.
Rem by Reminiscence
Just close your eyes and think back to your last warm day at the beach. That’s what Rem smells like. So if you can’t technically get to the beach today, just spray some Rem, Simoon works too.
May's tips from Huize Heeley
Of course, that’s not its name, but it wouldn’t be out of place. For May, Coccobello and Sel Marin from Heeley are her bottled summers (besides a nice bottle of white, of course). Sel Marin treats you to sun, sea, and a salty breeze, and Coccobello smells like that early morning. Go and smell, such an epic story.
Bronze Goddess by Estée Lauder
Yes, May and I also share a favorite. Bronze Goddess by Estée is the absolute best. May calls it (and I quote, read here for a moment): “Sun in a bottle with a hint of sex.” Yes, and then you know it’s summer or it’s going to be really hot. Amen.
Blossom by Jimmy Choo
If something is called Blossom and has the name tag of Jimmy Choo on it, then you know you’re in summer. And that it sparkles, is cheerful, and is basically just a party in a bottle. So you can guess three times which editor this is tailor-made for. Right, our Lil.
Orchid Soleil by Tom Ford
This is a tip for Elke, since she carefully snatched the Velvet bottle (not to be confused with a field bottle) from our Tom. Orchid Soleil is the summer variant. The bottle is just as much a feast for the eyes, but in bronze. And with one spritz from the bottle, you smell somewhat powdery, spicy, and floral, but particularly reminiscent of that summer evening that should never end.
Jil Sander with his all-time Sun
Oh hello icon, did you think I had forgotten you? Well no, of course not. It’s actually just one big fake summer if you haven’t secretly sprayed this behind your ear or smelled it in the hallways.
