Hugh Hefner passed away

The man, the myth, the legend, the man who had a weakness for everything with blonde hair, was known for his notorious parties in his mansion, but of course is most famous for launching the iconic Playboy magazine – he is no more. At a very nice age of 91, he passed away in his Playboy Mansion.

He launched his iconic magazine in 1953 with perhaps the most famous blonde in the whole world, Marilyn Monroe, on the cover and ever since Playboy became a success and Hugh a legend. The man who was once himself deflowered at the age of 22 became a gigantic symbol for the sex industry, or better said, for ‘freedom of sexuality’.

During an interview in 2004, Hugh was once asked how he hopes people will remember him when he is no longer around, to which his answer was: ”I’d like to be remembered as someone who played some part in changing our hurtful and hypocritical views on sex – and had a lot of fun doing it.” And all that with a pipe in his hand and a velvet smoking jacket on. Hugh, I think that’s just fine.
