Everything you need to know about the new series Tin Star

The observant viewer knows: I am infected with the Tin Star virus. A brand new British series from BBC First that I am so incredibly into that I become chatty about it. The brilliant story, that Canadian environment, those actors, man oh man. Have you already seen everything and still looking for a new gem? Tin Star is your new best friend and I will tell you why.

1. Tim Roth is effing brilliant in the lead role

Those who are familiar with Tim Roth know that the actor is versatile. Yes, he played that brilliant guy in Lie to Me, a power-hungry soldier in The Incredible Hulk. The notorious New York gangster Dutch Schultz. No problem. But the murderous, broken, traumatized father who completely flips when his family is attacked? That’s a vulnerable (and spooky) dark side we haven't seen from him before. You feel me: I am in love with Tim Roth's acting skills.

2. It is anything but predictable

Yeah, we all know the story of the big city man who moves to a small village to provide a safe and quiet home for his kids. We also know that such plans are anything but calm and tranquilo. And YET you are on the edge of your seat with Tin Star and things are completely unpredictable. That plot twist, I love it.

3. Tin Star is totally couple-proof

TV series are often easy to categorize: action, comedy, or drama. But in Tin Star, multiple themes seem to flow into each other, making it incredibly strong. A bit of thriller, a bit of drama, and a bit of dark comedy. The last time my boyfriend and I watched a series together from start to finish and were both captivated was Prison Break, I fear. Until now...

4. You watch BBC on your good old television or turn it into the new Netflix

Let me start by saying that series on TV are JUST the most fun to follow. Yes, you have to wait a week, but that way you can't binge it all at once and can quickly follow something cool for several months. But okay, if you are really very impatient now or have something else to do at 21:00 tonight, you can always choose to binge the ten episodes online.

Oh, and for the clueless who didn't know yet...
BBC First is therefore available for everyone with a normal channel package. Without extra costs and with subtitles. So, get that popcorn in the house for tonight at 21:00. No thanks needed, no thanks.
