In this city, you can go to the bathroom EVERYWHERE
It's a thing at the moment: peeing and toilets. For when you need to quickly go number one (or number two, but we won't talk about that of course) you must. A judge even said that women can use urinals with peace of mind, after fining a wild peeing lady in extreme need. I think that's going to be a mess. But now there is even a city declared the most pee-friendly city in the Netherlands. Yes, the most pee-friendly city. And because today is National Pee Day, never heard of it but for the important matters of life you obviously need a day, this was the moment to announce it.
In Rotterdam they understand that you can be overwhelmed by a strong urge to pee. With 119 public toilets, this is according to the Continentie Stichting Nederland the ideal shopping city for women in urgent need. By the way, did you know that there is an app called Hoge Nood? You can see with the push of a button where you can go for some urgently needed urination. One in five women sometimes changes plans due to a lack of enough toilet facilities at the destination.
The frequency of peeing here at the editorial office varies quite a bit. From thirty times on the run to the smallest room to none. But for those types with frequent urgent needs or a weak bladder (or if you're pregnant, because then it seems to really get out of hand) Rotterdam is the toilet place to be.
