KIKI’S WHO IS THE MOLE?-TALK
Week 1
Gooeeeeeeedemiddag liebe leute. No Gaston with a thick fat envelope at your door, but Kieks the Molloot on your screen. Did you think you were done with me after Expedition Robinson Ha-ha. I don’t think so, girls. After a little winter nap, this mole is more ready than ever to dig through the earth for a bit of spectacle and ’trust nobody’ whispering.
In the coming weeks, I will spam you every Monday afternoon with all the suspicious actions from the latest episode, suspicions, and more Inspector Gadget nonsense. And, to keep it cozy and interactive: my mailbox kiki@amayzine.com is officially opened for all the craziness you encounter, so if you happen to think over the weekend: ‘What is he/she doing?!’, just email me, and I will bundle all your findings, the more chance I have this year to get it RIGHT who The Mole is. You should know that I am a Zarayda (season 13 for the connoisseurs), still completely out of my mind that fucking Kees Tol was The Mole. No shit. Still a trauma.
Anyway, time to talk about this first episode of this season. Filmed in America (does a little dance!) and after three seconds of watching, I thought: eh, WhoAreAllThesePeopleInGodsname minus Jochem van Gelder? Luckily, there’s a round of introductions after which you think: aaaah, oh yes. Sort of. Anyway, we will get to know the candidates in detail in the coming weeks, for now just a summary of the first notable actions in a row (watch out spoiler freaks, now get lost kssssst!).
Kiki’s mole radar
– The people who went in the helicopter are already a bit off my list as a mole. Because honestly: for The Mole, it doesn’t make sense to go into that helicopter for an exemption while the other candidates can earn thousands of euros? Roos, Thomas, and Jeroen, the arrows are not aimed at you for now.
– The episodes were called ‘So Done’. Let me, let me. “I have always DONE IT LIKE THIS”. A song by Ramses Shaffy. Who played with Ramses? Thomas. Right. Suspicious? Or are we going completely loco?
– Rewind to the moment when Sigrid takes the test. Have you ever seen a candidate take a test so relaxed, laid-back? And, that big glasses, is that because you’re a bit blind, little mole?
– Biggest Mole action: seriously, ‘how could Sanne, Imanuelle, and Diederik overlook that envelope? This smells a bit like moles, right? They are way too enthusiastic to be The Mole. At the top of the suspect list after episode 1? Diederik and Sanne.
– Here’s the funniest Twitter joke of the week (thanks to Suzanne Mensen): “Would love to see Ellie Lust set up a reconstruction of each episode and eventually a report. #etherdiscipline #widm”. ELLIEEEEE, WE MISS YOU. From the same lady in question: “This series #widm is going to feel like one big episode of RTL Boulevard as long as Jeroen is in it.” Brilliant. I’m already a fan of Suzanne.
– When Suzan Visser was The Mole, a lot of fishermen were shown in that season. Now the series is filmed in Portland, also known as ’the City of Roses’. Is Roos standing in the preview in front of a rose bush? So that.
– Okay, I’m going overboard. BUT IN ‘KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD’ ARE ALL DIEDERIK'S LETTERS. And he said while searching for the helicopter tickets in the woods: ‘I’ll look on the ground.’ Diederik, Mr. Science Journalist, just a bit too present and vague, you’re on my mole radar. Just so you know.
