The lipstick for every outfit

It happens to all of us sometimes. The overwhelming feeling when you open the doors of your makeup cabinet in the morning with your sleepy and yawning face. Just the whole row of lipsticks. So many colors. Are you going for matte or shiny? Lip liner to go with it? And which shade? You have orange/red, dark red, bright red… Arghgfx. So much choice. And research shows that the more choices we have, the unhappier we become. And I see that reflected during my morning makeup routine.

Fortunately, there are those combinations that always work. Gin with tonic for example. Or caramel with sea salt. The same goes for the lipstick that takes your outfit from boring basic to runway ready. And these combinations are known to all makeup artists, gurus, and fashion girls, so it’s about time you know them too. With these combos, you’ll never go wrong and your makeup routine will become a lot easier. Thank me later.

1. Casual

We all have those days when we don’t feel like a complete ‘dress-up’, so we pull out a simple pair of jeans, a white blouse, and low black heels. But to spice up this look a bit, finish it off with a bright red lip (here are the hacks you want to know). Make it look like you’ve put in a little extra effort. Perfect for days when you overslept or just for a lazy day.

2. Little black dress

With black, you wear dark red or purple lipstick. The darker, the better. It completes your outfit by giving it a mysterious touch. But if this is too intense for you, a bright red color also looks fantastic.

3. Floral

From a floral dress, T-shirt to a jumpsuit; everything pairs well with a feminine coral-colored lipstick. Perfect for all warm summer days. Combine this with a light blush and a natural eyeshadow for the finishing touches.

4. Blue

All shades of blue are perfectly complemented with pink. The darker the blue shade of your outfit, the darker the pink of your lipstick can be.

5. White

With a white outfit, you can’t go wrong with brown lipstick. Use a brown lipstick that is just a few shades darker than your own skin tone. A color that is too light will make you look paler.

6. Minimalist

A day when your entire outfit is the same color? Or in the same color scheme? Always go for a brighter lipstick color. A pop of color completes any outfit and gives a classic look.
