And the Dutch thrill seekers

Hello Netflix bingers. Did you know that the company has been around for almost twenty years? I was eight when it was launched, I don't think I even knew what the internet was back then. But anyways, twenty years later and with about 98 million subscribers, Netflix has researched what is watched when. And what turns out? We Dutch are real thrill seekers, because we prefer to watch creepy things in the evening for a few hours instead of comedy or drama. So, want to know what we prefer to watch when? Check it out below:

06:00 Comedy wake-up call

’In the morning we go for humor. Makes sense, because you want to start your day well. And the series we use for that are:

  • Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
  • New Girl
  • Modern Family
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Fuller House

12:00 A touch of drama during lunch

Between 12:00 and 14:00 we seem to watch the most drama series. Research also shows that this is the ultimate binge moment for Netflix members. As long as you don't do it during work hours...

  • Orange is The New Black
  • Bloodline
  • The Crown
  • House of Cards
  • Fargo

20:00 Bedtime thrill seekers

Dutch people are thrill seekers, because while other countries prefer to watch comedy right after dinner, we prefer to watch thrillers. A delightful dose of tension before you go to sleep is done with:

  • The Walking Dead
  • Stranger Things
  • Breaking Bad
  • The OA
  • How to Get Away with Murder

00:00 Midnight snack

In the late evening/early morning hours we go for something with a bit more body. And fun fact: 15% of streaming happens worldwide between midnight and 06:00. What we watch then are mainly documentaries. Here by the way also documentaries that make you smarter.

  • Abstract
  • Making a Murderer
  • Planet Earth
  • Chef’s Table
  • The Keepers
