PANIC: summer is coming
It's over. Now it's really over. I'm just scrolling back through my Insta feed and I'm almost having a panic attack. Three years ago, I was at my thinnest ever. I even wore cropped tops (yikes) to festivals, just because my stomach could handle it just fine.
Three years later and we've gained nine kilos. NINE. That's just three kilos a year. The thing is: I'm a lot happier than I was three years ago. And when I was at my slimmest, it wasn't necessarily very healthy. I lived on shakes and ‘slimmer bars’ and ate either salad or soup every evening. Does it make you thin? Yes. Is it boring? Also. Is it healthy? Far from it. And so I would never want to go back to that time. What would be nice is a more sporty lifestyle. Because honestly: since three years ago, I haven't really picked up sports again, apart from the occasional sporadic run here and there. And so it's time for a plan.
‘Thank god I'm not the only one on the editorial team with bikini stress’
Pretty much everyone in our editorial block wants to tighten their butt and thighs a bit. And what do I read now? Soon, a gym is really opening around the corner from our office: The Gym Republic. And it seems to be a pretty cool gym too. I mean: this is a sign from above, right? The plan: fit chick Simone is going to drill us, affected Lil, Adeline, Elke, and I are going to take on the challenge. Getting fit is the plan. I'll just take three bites of the new Ben & Jerry's flavors that have been delivered here and then it's really over.
To be continued…
