The Jackie O's of now
It is the week of Jackie O and that has everything to do with the latest film about Jackie Kennedy that we can finally admire in the cinema starting tomorrow. To get extra excited today about tailored suits, pillbox hats, A-line dresses, and long gloves, I have gathered the Jackies of today for you. And believe me: you want the Jackie Kennedy style with a 2017 twist. And thanks to Máxima, Kate, Rania, and Charlene, it is incredibly fashionable.
Don't be jealous, just watch and imitate. Because such a beautiful ton-sur-ton look can also be found at Zara. (because Kate sometimes does a round at Zara too). So: if you can peek, then peek along. You'll look like a First Lady in no time.
Máxima
And of course, we roll out the red carpet for our royal highness Máxima. She is sweet, intelligent, funny, and by far the best-dressed royal in the Netherlands. And during Jackie's wedding to Onassis (on his Greek private island Skorpios), she wore a lace dress by Valentino. Just like Máxima! I say: twinning is definitely winning in this case.
So that wasn't a little Chanel, but a piece designed by an American atelier. By the way, it was made with exactly the same patterns, approved by Chanel. So... Do you still get it?
Rania al-Abdullah
If anyone would rock the famous pink suit with blue trim by Jackie, it would be the queen of Jordan. Somehow those two colors match Rania quite beautifully. Just Google the official welcome ceremony in Madrid. Rania walks out of the plane here looking incredibly beautiful in Fendi all over the place.
And, did you know that Jackie was a big fan of French designers, but had to wear American creations by John? And to come back to that pink-blue suit; that wasn't a little Chanel, but a piece designed by an American atelier. By the way, it was made with exactly the same patterns and approved by Chanel. So... Do you still get it?
Kate Middleton
From a girl in skinny jeans and suede boots to a style icon for women around the world who sells out collections in no time with the ‘Kate Effect’. In 2017 alone, just for her perfectly matching pillbox hats. And just a bit about those hats, the designer of Jackie's pillbox hats was Halston. And he said she had an exceptionally ‘large head’.
Charlene Lynette Wittstock
If someone the ton-sur-ton style in its newest form, it is the princess of Monaco. Charlene's outfits are often in one color. Think of a nude-colored dress with a wrap in the same shade or at least one that belongs to the same color family. This build-up of colors gives calmness to the picture, but is anything but boring. Sometimes combined with a tiny cut-out detail, usually paired with the most beautiful jewelry with a considerable wow factor.
