The mystery of Modefabriek
(what you always wanted to know)
It was always a bit of a mystical thing. You knew it existed, but it was a no-go area for us shoppers. That’s where it happened, that’s where it hung, that’s where what you and I would want to let go of with our greedy little fingers took place. Modefabriek. The holy of holies of the industry, but really only and exclusively for the people of the fashion trade. Until now.
I just ran through the editorial office yodeling and cheering, and yodeling is not really my forte, but we are allowed to go this year too. You and I, to Modefabriek. Yes, I can hardly believe it either. We can finally see for ourselves what the fashion people have in store for us. No idea how Modefabriek has been until now, and that still frustrates me of course, but this forty-third edition is this time focused on women (they also have Dress like a man). Feminism was bursting from the runway at Dior, but now it’s also bursting from Modefabriek.
“You are the first to touch the latest collections, hear all the secrets of the fashion industry, and get a Master Class”
Now, of course, I haven’t been behind those closed doors yet, but I can already tell you what they are up to there. Modefabriek has developed an ingenious LEARN program over the years. You immediately know where those fashion skills of the country’s entrepreneurs come from. You have MF Talks by brands and people with interesting workshops, inspiring cases, and the trend predictions of the season. There is a Summer School with Master Classes specifically for professionals (but you can also go, I’ll tell you more about that in a moment) and you get a 1-on-1 with the masterminds about online marketing and social media.
Okay, you naturally got stuck on the phrase ‘where you can also go’. I completely understand. Here’s the deal: we can give away two sets of two tickets. That means you can go to Modefabriek with your friend, mother, business partner in crime, or – I don’t care – the neighbor. You are the first to touch the latest collections, hear all the secrets of the fashion industry, and get a Master Class. About shoes, about pop-up stores, about the future generation or about the summer trends of next year and how to spot them exactly. Well, you know what you need to do. Mark July 9 and 10 in big letters in your agenda, respond with the most ingenious writing on Facebook, and then I might see you among all the GREAT ones in the field at Modefabriek.
