The teen movies we were all obsessed with back in the day

teen movies

Ah, the good old days of the teen movie hits. The movies you have definitely watched a hundred times and from which you have practically memorized all the lines. Especially fun to put on again when you have a movie night planned with your girls. If you're with your boy, put here something on. Guaranteed to lead to a rowdy evening on your couch.

Need some inspiration for your Sunday Funday chill session? Here you go:

She’s All That

The ugliest girl transformed into a hotshot by the hottest guy in school. How come there were no Freddie Prinze Jr. lookalikes at my school?

10 Dingen die ik niet leuk aan je vind

Heath Ledger and my main man Joseph Gordon-Levitt in one movie. After watching this film, you of course hoped to snag the bad boy from your school.

Clueless

The bible of all teen movies. Cher Horowitz, fashion icon extraordinaire with the absolute best one-liners. ‘Do you prefer fashion victim or ensemble challenged?’

Bring It On

Alright, I still know all the cheers from the cheerleaders in this movie. I remember when the movie just came out, I would do the cheers with my friends. Embarrassing, I know. But this movie was really golden. Especially if, like me, you went to an American school that also had a cheer squad that you secretly intensely hated.

Coyote Ugly

The reason I ever wanted to work as a bartender. That was a bit disappointing when I ended up in the hospitality industry myself, because it was definitely not as cool as the girls from Coyote Ugly.

Legally Blonde

Okay, Reese Witherspoon may be seen in this hit series, but the way she portrayed Elle Woods… Brilliant.

Cruel Intentions

And okay, in Cruel Intentions Reese was of course also the definition of the good girl. And the fact that she was actually in a relationship with Ryan Philippe at the time made you love this movie even more.

Save The Last Dance

Before the whole Step Up hype, there was Save The Last Dance.

Mean Girls

The reason you wore only pink on Wednesdays for a long time and started using the word ‘fetch’. With perhaps the biggest bitch of the teen movies: Regina George. Luckily, actress Rachel McAdams made herself loved again in The Notebook.
