THE VOICE OF HOLLAND

The aftertalk

Dingdong, here we are again. Nothing is more enjoyable than watching television together (I say with two and a half million, I think it's a great group) and having opinions about it all.

First, let's talk about the clothing

Guus! The bow tie. That was for me, right? Right? Now that I know it's from Lanvin and it's combined with your undershirt, I'm starting to like and understand it better.

Did Sanne and Kirsten agree on a dress code? Anyway, black, leather, and something with studs was a theme last night. I think Zoe Karssen is counting coins right now because that outfit from Wendy is flying off her site. Meanwhile, my dad is texting me asking if Waylon is wearing a bicycle chain around his neck. That's a scarf. And hip. Hipster. Anyway, let's talk about the singing. That's what it's all about after all.

I didn't feel it

Kirsten sang Jolene. Technically perhaps quite perfect, but I find it all so much. Reaching out, pulling in, squinting eyes, spreading hands. It's the same as with her styling. And, and, and. Coco Chanel always said: ‘Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one item off’. Normally, I think that's total nonsense because I like a bit more when it comes to styling, but with Kirsten, I would say: just listen to the wise advice of the late Coco. When it comes to styling and singing; I was, again, in agreement with Waylon's comment.

Gotta love Sanne

“I can't talk already. What a long evening this is going to be.”

And then Buffy

“Are you nervous? That's because I’m so beautiful, I can't help it.” I love people who are not insecure and have humor. It reminds me of that guy I once met in London who complained about the insane amount he spent monthly on taxis. I suggested the bus or subway, to which he looked at me for six seconds and said in an extremely serious tone. “It’s impossible for me. People keep staring at me. I’m way too handsome for public transportation.”

Nice for Albert

Pleun was a guest on RTL Live this week and will tell there on Monday which song she will sing next week. You can think whatever you want about it, but I think it's smart. And Albert deserves it.

More Pleun

Can there be a sleep app where Pleun softly sings you to sleep with her little tones? Just an idea.

One more time Pleun

Did Pleun borrow Kirsten's earrings?

Wohoow Pleun. Those numbers.

“If you were my artist, I might have given you a ten.” Ali. That's sweet of you.

Some nice quotes

Waylon to Vicenzo: “Off stage, you can be decent. On stage: beast.” And I think Waylon has a very big stage.

Ali: “You need to be sexier. But yeah, maybe we are just dirty-minded.”

What I don't understand

‘It sounds quite ‘musical’’ is about the biggest insult the jury can throw at the artists. So if musical is the epitome of bad and terrible, where do you take the candidates to: The Lion King. Okay then

Wendy

“Isabel still hasn't washed her hands after meeting Douwe Bob.” Did you also find that a bit dirty-sounding? Or is that my corrupted mind?

And then Guus

He was funny. Guus to Isabel: “You had issues. With everything.” I found that funny.

Did you also think…

…that Jerry was still wearing his pajamas? Or already had them on? That could also be the case. You would have to sing ‘Dancing on the ceiling’. That song was already worn out and trampled in 1986. But Jerry can rock that.

About Leon

You know what it is? Leon is the John Grisham of the group. Technically, there’s nothing wrong with Grisham's books. But that doesn’t make you a Mulisch. Oh guys, how easy it is, huh, from the sidelines. If Leon hears me sing a note, he can laugh at me for a year.

Little coming-out

Suddenly Guus said he wants to eat with his love in a few years and then listen to Leon's music. Guus, come on, is your bow tie provider getting a song of his own? I really need such a truth-based love hit from you.

Something embarrassing

So Dwight was going to tell something embarrassing. The Efteling. Oh, he means how he behaved at an attraction in the Efteling. I find the whole thing a bit embarrassing. Yeah sorry, I'm just a human with an opinion too. But Dwight, this was nice. So much better than last week. You can sing more often.

I always agree with Waylon. I could have been very good friends with him. If I had been fifteen years younger. And fifteen centimeters shorter…
