WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

By Theo Bakana

By now you know what it means when you see me again, right? Right? Right? No, not? Then I will explain it again for the laymen among us. It means that it is Friday, then I will bike by with a weekly dose of weekend inspiration. So did you have no idea what to do in the coming days? Especially not to zone out. Or rather: click away. Really, you will be happy about it. Is the cork off the bottle yet? Not yet? Then do that first. Yes, are you back? Okay, here we go.

Let’s go to the beach, each

I must admit that I think the weather is suffering from a slight case of borderline. From 20 degrees to autumn-like scenes including gray skies, wind, and a sprinkle of rain here and there. Now it promises to be medium okay this weekend; what that means was also not exactly mentioned in the weather report, but anyway, the sun should make its entrance. As a true resident of The Hague, that means one thing: to the beach (and ice cream, and shorts and so on, but it sounds nicer if it just means one thing). So we can go to the beach again. The beach season will officially open this weekend, with the accompanying parties. Last week I already cautiously spent a day between the windbreaks and tonight the feet can hit the floor at Beachclub Indigo in The Hague, because they are celebrating the opening with the proclamation of an own republic. Woodstock in Bloemendaal is taking it a bit bigger with a completely festive opening weekend. Where are you going to feel the sand between your toes for the first time this year?

Beastly club

If you are not such a sand lover, no worries. A beastly new club is opening in Amsterdam. Last week was the festive opening for invitees, but from this weekend everyone can come for a glass of bubbles, a good beat, and an interior that will definitely fit well on your Instagram account. Mad Fox is the name and its fame will be great, just watch.

Maison Margiela in the MoMu

A visit to our southern neighbors is definitely worth considering this weekend. Perhaps you are on your way, but then you can make it a weekend getaway. Here you could for example sleep and this there are still other things you can do. ‘But why?’ I hear you think. Here’s why: this weekend the new exhibition ‘Margiela, the Hermès years’ will start at the Fashion Museum in Antwerp. That may require some extra explanation. Maison Margiela is still one of the coolest fashion brands. Perhaps not entirely wearable, but definitely inspiring, artistic, and a concept in the fashion world for years. The former designer, Martin Margiela, also designed for Hermès for a number of years. The pieces from that time have now been collected and this exhibition has come about. If you love fashion, it is definitely worth it, shall we then grab some Flemish fries afterwards?

About the shop and going wild

You all know by now how I react to a sample sale, it goes something like this: AAAAAH, YES, NOW, LET'S GO. Unfortunately, that can't happen here, but you can. This weekend is the sample sale of Fabienne Chapot. Perhaps better known as Fab., but since this year renamed and expanded with espadrilles, bags, clothing, wallets, and all that with a discount.

I told you that you would be happy? Did it work? No? Do you have tips? Then email me at theo@amayzine.com and maybe you will see your favorite weekend activity back next week. For now, cheers and see you next week.

Same time, same channel.
