WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

Hey free birds. Not that you're necessarily free from work today, but it is true that you are free in general and that is something we should be very happy about, hence this day. And without getting too emotional, let's celebrate freedom a little extra now, because you have the weekend. This is what you can do in the next two days.
Celebrating freedom
Perhaps you're reading this while feeling the bass thumping and hearing the beats blasting from the speakers. I doubt it, but with all the freedom festivals happening today, it could very well be. If you didn't get that chance today (I feel you); don't worry, there are plenty of opportunities this weekend to make up for it. On Saturday you can go to the Music On Festival in the Meerpark in Amsterdam. If you can't get a ticket for that, you can also go to DockYard Festival. The whole weekend you can go to De School in Amsterdam, which has the best DJs lined up for you for two days. That does mean, of course, that you need to be in bed by eight o'clock tonight.

Excited to celebrate freedom, but is the above just a bit too much for you? Maybe you'll be happier with an old-fashioned Blockparty. I must admit that in the twenty-four years I've been roaming this planet, I haven't experienced one such party, but still; it sounds so nice. An old-fashioned Blockparty then, and where do you need to be? This coming Sunday at Smokin’ Barrels. Think barbecue, hip-hop, Brooklyn, and they're doing it together with UberEATS, so the food will be finger-licking good. I'm already looking forward to the set from Sapkuur Soundsystem.

More sushi
Where I told you last week about a real sushi cruise, you can go to the sushiFESTIVAL this weekend. Yes, Kiek already mentioned it; it's taking place this weekend at the Lucasbolwerk. So if you want to see how much sashimi Kiki can fit in her mouth at once (and I can tell you: you'll be amazed), then you know where to be. And oh yes, it's also her birthday this weekend. Sushi festival JOY is this weekend in Utrecht. If you really can't make it; they'll also be in The Hague in June.
Vi-va-vintage
If your wardrobe could use an upgrade, then the Amstel Hotel is the place to be this weekend. There is the annual sale of Designer-Vintage. You know, that really nice site where you can buy the most beautiful vintage designer items. Should I have added that line? The name says it all. But still, there are those types who always need just a bit more explanation (I definitely belong to that club or maybe I just enjoy providing extra information), anyway, a designer vintage sale with the most beautiful pieces from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, and many more. And the fun thing about vintage is that you won't quickly have a moment on the street where you think: Oh shit, there's my bag/jacket/pair of shoes passing by.’ And maybe even more fun: a diamond will be raffled among the attendees, so you'll have earned that bag back right away.
Plenty to do this weekend and to get into that free-weekend mood and to celebrate our freedom a little extra today, I've dug up one of my favorite songs for you, accompanied by an overload of supermodels and clothes that are ‘phresh out the runway’, as @badgalriri can say so beautifully.
