We all ask this rather silly question
But why though? Why?
Okay. There may be no stupid questions, but there are questions that didn't need to be asked. Because you already know the answer, for example. Still, I find myself asking at least seven times a day the question that doesn't need to be asked, namely: what are you doing for Christmas? Everyone answers the same: not much. Family. Eating, reading. Sometimes I encounter a joker who adds ‘fighting’ to the list, but otherwise I can usually fill it in reasonably well.
So I ask myself why I ask this question. Is it because I hope to meet someone who dares to break the Christmas tradition wildly and treats me to a very crazy answer? Or is it simply because I want to excuse myself for hysterical activities? Am I comforted by the fact that the rest of the Netherlands, what am I saying, the world is just as boring as I am? Eating, couches, drinking and Netflix. And knowing that it's good. That I can park my FOMO (which I don't particularly suffer from, mind you) and enjoy doing absolutely nothing. And you can too. Can you still do nothing, nothing but that.
