WEDDINGBEAUTYCHECKLIST

A pimple is bad. You know it, I know it. But a pimple on your own wedding day is hell. Or what about a spray tan gone wrong? CRYING. That’s why it’s very important to work through a good beauty checklist in the weeks leading up to your big day. Try out makeup, see if you get a rash from that one cream, and don’t go for a totally new, flashy hairstyle a week before. And what about those annoying little hairs in the corners of your mouth? Don’t pluck them the night before. With this wedding beauty checklist, you will look your absolute best on the most beautiful day of your life. Check check, double check.

6 months in advance

– Just as it is extremely important to set a budget for your wedding, it is also important to calculate how much you want to spend on the beauty part. Because you obviously want to look top-notch when the time comes. And a good start is half the battle.

– Have fun cutting and pasting on Pinterest, nothing better than that. Create a beauty wall where you collect hair and makeup looks.

– If you want a new hairstyle or a different hair color, this is the moment to try something new. If it doesn’t work out, you still have plenty of time to color it back or let your hair grow. Unless you’re going from long to super short…

5 months in advance

– So you want to go from size 40 to size 36? That’s no problem, as long as you start on time. Make a workout and food plan so you feel good and especially comfortable in your skin on the big day.

– Timely engage your favorite hairdresser, brow hero, pedicure, and manicure. Make a shortlist of hair and makeup stylists that fit your budget.

4 to 3 months in advance

– Make an appointment with a stylist for trial makeup and hair. If you’re not completely satisfied or don’t know exactly what you want, make appointments with different makeup artists/hairdressers.

– Choose your beauty accessories (think of something for your hair, lipstick color, etc.).

2 months in advance

– Get started with makeup and hair. If it doesn’t turn out well, you still have plenty of time to go for something else.

– Start with an eyelash serum. Who doesn’t want a pair of Bambi-likeeyes on her big day?

– Start scrubbing your skin weekly and pamper your face with a face mask at least once a week.

– If you want pearly white teeth, now is the time to whiten them.

1 month in advance

– A pair of beautiful hands with well-groomed strong nails is a must on your wedding day. Just think of that ring that will be slipped onto that beautiful hand. Therefore, start at least four weeks before you say 'I do' with a course of supplements. For example, Swisse has a nail, skin, and hair serum that promotes the growth and health of your, uh yes, nails, skin, and hair.

2 weeks in advance

– Go to the hairdresser for a cut and/or color.

– From now on, schedule a weekly scrub session.

– Do a light trial spray tan. If it’s not good, you can still look for a good tanning lotion.

1 week in advance

– Go for an extensive facial treatment.

– Pay a visit to your favorite brow bar.

– Start making your ‘emergency beauty kit’ (needle, thread, aspirin, perfume, deodorant, spare tights, and band-aids).

5 days in advance

– Visit the wax bar. Smooth legs, armpits, and uh, don’t forget that Brazilian for your wedding night and honeymoon.

– Drink plenty of water in the coming days. Your skin will be happy about it.

2 days in advance

– Go for a light spray tan so your skin gets a healthy glow.

– Book a manicure and pedicure.

– Scrub your face and apply a hydrating mask.

1 day in advance

– Make sure you get 8 to 10 hours of sleep at night. And that’s tough, I understand that all too well. Just think of all those nerves racing through your body. Therefore, take a melatonin or magnesium tablet. These sleep tips might also come in handy.
