Why we are attracted to muscular men

Mr. Perfect? Two meters tall, strong, big hands and a bit muscular. Not a huge muscle bundle but I do like the strength to throw my one meter eighty into a somersault on the bed. Secretly, I've already found him, unfortunately, he just got married a few months ago and lives just like Mister X in the American country. I never learn… Anyway, the ideal man then. What does yours look like?

It turns out that we women are quite attracted to men who look strong and muscular. This is evident from Australian research by Griffith University in Queensland. A team of scientists wondered what women find attractive in the opposite sex and therefore invited over 150 ladies to admire some footage of bare-chested men. The ladies had to rate the gentlemen on their apparent strength and attractiveness. You can probably guess what came out of this: over seventy percent of the participants preferred a man with muscular arms and a streamlined torso because they seemed strong in their eyes. The results also show that strong-looking men belong to the group of most attractive gentlemen. Last but not least, we prefer a tall man.

The authors of the study conclude that ‘ancestral cues of a man's fighting ability’ boost attractiveness. According to them, many ladies link physical appearance to ancient mating rituals, where they choose partners they believe can take care of them. The figures show that no woman feels attracted to a man with feminine traits. Wow.

All the little male singles of the Netherlands: if you are reading this, don't be disheartened. A recent study by dating site Match.com showed that women feel just a bit more attracted to shorter men. A study at the University of Pennsylvania claims that bald men are found to be more attractive than gentlemen with a good head of hair. In short, if you are short, bald, and starting to develop a bicep on your upper arm: you are still doing great in the market.
