Why you should surprise your best friend with a weekend getaway
Last summer, my best friend and I hit our ten year anniversary. From day one that we met, we were actually attached at the hip. I had just moved to the Netherlands and purely by chance and very last minute, thanks to the many mistakes for the school I had enrolled in, we ended up in the same class. So we actually had a stroke of luck in a misfortune. Anyway, ten years later, ten years in which we have experienced many heartbreaks together, relocations, work drama, and the loss of a loved one, she and I are still going strong. And when I hit the 28th in the summer, she surprised me with a weekend getaway to Milan, where we are now while you read this.
And a weekend away with your best friend, this is why you should do it:
1. She deserves it
And so do you. Just get away together for a bit. Turn your brain off, just have fun. Perhaps she or you just went through something intense, a relationship ended, work troubles – whatever it is, everyone needs to get out sometimes and who better to do it with than your best girlfriend? I mean.
