With makeup, you perform better
Makeup, we have a love/hate relationship with it. Because it’s quite a chore to apply it every morning over and over again, only to take it off again in the evening. In that respect, it’s better to be a man. Get up forty-five minutes later, run a hand through your hair, maybe a dab of gel and a splash of aftershave, and voila: done. It’s unfair.
But ladies, research shows that our hard work is not in vain. It turns out that makeup has a positive effect on your performance. What? Yes, really. A layer of makeup ensures that we all perform just a little bit better. That’s some good news, isn’t it? Where’s the champagne? Can I pop that open already?
The study looked at whether makeup would have a positive effect on exam scores of 186 students. One group in the study wore makeup during the exam and the other group did not. And you can guess which group achieved better results.
This is also known as the ‘lipstick effect’. And it all comes down to the fact that you feel prettier and better with makeup on. A good self-image gives you more confidence and that has such a big effect that it improves your performance.
So ladies, do you have an important presentation on the calendar? An exam? An interview? Make sure you get up on time. The perfect makeup for a job interview can be found here by the way. And the lipstick that best matches your outfit, here. And to perform even better, make sure you don’t miss this. Good luck!
