Women with this job are most likely to cheat

Riding a crooked skate; anything but chic, and yet it happens all too often. In so many relationships.

Whether it is because the excitement is gone, there is another in the game, or simply because love has bled to death: a woman's job also influences whether or not she wants to cheat. Or better said: not having a job has an influence. Women who stay at home and take care of the children cheat more often than women who are busy with a job.

In a study involving more than 10,000 married people, researchers looked at what common factors were present among people who decided to cheat. And the women who were looking outside were more often housewives than women who remained faithful to their husbands. The reasons for this? Boredom and the search for a challenge. And of course attention getting. The ‘housewives’ often feel a bit lonely at home. Ladies who find energy and coziness in their work are naturally less likely to have ‘problems’ with this.

And what about men? The researchers checked that too. And what turns out? What kind of job a man has doesn't matter at all. For men, it’s all about the outside. Men who are tall and attractive and also have a high IQ look further (as often happens, just to name a few). Temptation Island happens, just to name a few).

According to the researchers, this is because men who have their affairs in order are often a bit arrogant and constantly think they can do better. For them, the grass is always a bit greener somewhere else, at least, they think so. They only find the very best good enough for themselves and they really enjoy the necessary attention. Every message from a new, exciting woman strokes their ego. Monogamy is not for successful men, they believe. Ouch.

Well, my guy is quite nice to look at and hasn't fallen on his head... THANKFULLY he is not an immensely tall beanpole, at 1.78 meters (which he always makes 1.85 meters when he has to tell people). Phew.

Did you know that men are more likely to cheat in certain places? – Not nice to know, but eh, certainly a third of the Dutch cheat or have cheated at some point.

FACTS

– Besides the internet, the workplace is the culprit: cheaters most often find a lover here.

– Naughty, naughtier, naughtiest... On dating sites, 1 in 3 who has signed up already has a partner.
