12x this should not be missing in your picnic basket
or beach bag
If you still don't know what to do today with your life, I can only say one thing. Gather your girlfriends, agree on a place where the sun shines until at least seven o'clock tonight, and grab your stuff. I've already put together a list for you with the things you definitely shouldn't forget besides a mountain of tasty snacks and bottles of rosé. Oh and uh, if you can't figure it out, I'm here to help you with that too: these are the best spots to shake out your blanket. Come on, suck it up sunbeams!
A blanket
As big as possible of course, otherwise those slightly long grass blades will tickle between your toes. And soft especially, otherwise you'll get imprints on your butt. You don't want that.
Corkscrew
Because imagine, you're lying down and you discover that there is no screw cap on that perfect Chardonnay.
Plastic glasses
I have an allergy to plastic cups or ‘wine glasses’. Just glass please. Wrapped in a tea towel. Works great and tastes much better.
Cool packs
No one wants lukewarm wine. You know it, I know it.
Sunscreen
The first sun rays are the meanest. I can still hear my mother's voice echoing in my head. So apply it, girlfriend.
Plates and cutlery
You can break that bread just fine. But no bread without herb butter or a piece of soft creamy brie. And yes, that homemade pasta salad is also difficult to eat with your hands.
Trash bag
Plastic plates, dirty cutlery, empty juice boxes... An empty plastic bag in your bag and your mess is tidied up in no time.
Citronella candle
For when you stay at that cozy spot and get visited by the first spring mosquito. Also, could you throw a pack of matches in your bag?
Sanitizer
For the germophobes among us: a bottle of hand sanitizer to make your hands bacteria-free after you've just done the necessary handstands in the grass.
Games
Nothing is more fun than playing a game with friends with a glass of wine, an olive, and the necessary nice tunes. Especially when those empty bottles pile up and the sun goes down. Did I already tell you not to forget the candles?
Hay fever tablets
I don't think I need to explain further. Those who, like me, are in trouble know what I'm talking about.
Our magazine
Duh. For that extra bit of summer on your (beach) towel.
