7x this is how you survive Easter

Earlier this week, I already gave you some tips for the ultimate Easter brunch, but I can also imagine that you don't want to be stuck with two extra kilos on your thighs by Tuesday. With these seven tips, you can get through Easter without having to work out like crazy to burn off all the calories you consumed.

1. Fresh

Make sure your brunch table mainly consists of fresh products. No Easter breakfast without Easter bread, of course, but try to use as few packaged items as possible. Scones, sweet rolls, cakes; all delicious, but also huge sugar bombs. Bake a tasty breakfast cake yourself and fill the table with boiled eggs, fresh toppings, fruit, and yogurt.

2. Kids

A large stack of fluffy pancakes baked in butter, topped with a spread of Nutella, syrup, or just a scoop of sugar. Heavenly, you know, I know. The trouble is that it's a massive calorie bomb. Better to bake a batch of healthy pancakes, with banana, oats, and an egg. Top them off with some Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and a handful of blueberries, and you’re guaranteed to make friends with the little ones at the table., 3. Drink it black.

A large glass of steaming latte

macchiato, made with whole milk and preferably a swirl of coffee syrup in it. All nice and dandy, but just see this as a dessert instead of 'just a nice cup of coffee'. Because that innocent latte easily contains about a hundred calories. If you drink three, you've already consumed almost the number of calories in a normal breakfast. So try to limit those lattes to one and drink the rest of your coffee black or with a splash of milk. Every little bit helps, girlfriend., 4. Juice on the side?.

A well-set brunch table naturally also includes a fresh juice. You can conveniently buy it in a bottle, but it's better to make it yourself. Many bottled juices are full of added sugars and strange E-numbers. And in the end, fresh is just the tastiest.

5. Pure.

No Easter celebration without chocolate eggs. They belong there, and you should definitely enjoy them. Just try to fish out the dark chocolate ones from the bowl and not immediately down a whole handful.

6. Keep it light.

Had a hefty brunch? Then keep the rest of the day light. Snack on some raw vegetables or have a piece of fruit and go for a walk. This way, you give your body a chance to burn off those fresh croissants, Easter eggs, and sweet rolls, and you won't feel sick when you sit down at the dinner table again.

7. Bake a cake.

Are you visiting your in-laws tomorrow? Bake a healthy cake yourself and take it along for coffee. This way, you score points with your in-laws, and you know that you'll consume fewer calories than if you had that piece of cream cake or that huge chocolate Easter bunny. Double winning.
