The Ikea chair that I had to have

My former student house at the Dappermarkt was sponsored by Ikea, except for a freebie from a bank. But my bed was named Hemnes (you know, the extendable variant), my cabinets were the Besta and the glassware up to the laundry basket came from the Swedish giant. That's why I solemnly swore after my graduation that Ikea had to disappear. Until I saw the chair, the armchair.

I searched high and low for something beautiful of sleek Scandinavian design. A leg slightly slanted, armrest a tad wider, flatter and slimmer compared to the leg and upholstered in fabric (so it matches the future leather sofa of my life). I went from monstrously expensive to unaffordable, which I found risky, because that new sofa isn't here yet, and then suddenly I was in Ikea and there it was. It's called Ekenäset. It's a bargain, it sits like a dream, looks great if you like a Scandinavian touch and it's proof that I need to visit our Swedish friends more often.
