7x out and about this Easter

From the Christmas days, my heart beats quite fast, you know that by now, but Easter is also definitely in second place. It's a kind of beginning of spring. When I was a little girl, I looked forward to it immensely, because Easter meant a new outfit. That was often a dress or a swirly skirt. So Easter was officially the first skirt day. We still come together during these holidays and traditionally eggs are collected (and then tapped), doors are thrown open, and we feast for hours.

But after such a long (and often calorie-rich brunch) I also find it nice to go out. I've lined up some fun activities for you. Will it be petting lambs or that classic Easter concert?

Dive into the woods

For example, the Amsterdamse Bos. Hide and seek eggs with your niece, build a treehouse with your nephew, or enjoy the newly born, fluffy chicks with your loved one.

Oldtimer festival in Venhuizen

Scoring points with your loved one or your father-in-law? On the first and second Easter day, you can go to Venhuizen for a good dose of oldtimers. Over 12,000 square meters is set up here with the most beautiful classic trucks and live race shows. Let the men browse among the classics and plop yourself in the grass with a drink for the necessary live bands and a portion of fashion (yes really, the female visitors have also been considered).

Easter fires

In Twente and parts of the Achterhoek, meters-high piles of wood, pallets, and hay are traditionally made during the Easter days, even larger than the New Year's fires.

Mega Easter market

On the second Easter day, Panningen has been dedicated to the Mega Easter market for many years. In the center, there are over three kilometers of market stalls with all kinds of trinkets and delicacies. The famous Easter market attracts more than 30,000 visitors annually.

Keukenhof

Keukenhof organizes various Easter activities every year. Sniff the fresh new flowers and enjoy a delicious Easter brunch or high tea at Kasteel Keukenhof.

Easter concert

A fan of classical music? Then plop down in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam for the traditional Easter concert featuring pieces by Haydn, Gluck, and Beethoven, among others.

Blow off some steam at the sea

What could be better than a long walk on the beach? With a bit of luck, the sun is shining and you can plop down in a sheltered corner with a glass of wine and a good charcuterie board. At Branding in Noordwijk, for example. If you're looking for me, you know where to find me...
