8x why you should watch Élite

Are you comfortably sitting in that black hole? Or are you now The Affair ready for some fresh binge food? Let me suggest a series that you’ll want to start tonight in the latter case. I’m all in for these eight reasons:

1. Gossip Girl 2.0

Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald, and Dan Humphrey can finally be on repeat. Élite is the new Gossip Girl in Spanish.

2. The boys

Álvaro Rico, Miguel Herrán, Omar Ayuso, Jaime Menéndez Lorente, Miguel Bernardeau, and Arón Piper; the boys seem to get more handsome with each episode...

3. Let's get Spanish

Spanish series are doing incredibly well on Netflix. Grand Hotel, Velvet, Cable Girls, Queen of the South, and of course La Casa de Papel: name a favorite series and the chances are high that Spanish is the language spoken in it. Spanish for the win, then. And that language makes you spontaneously want to take Spanish lessons and book a ticket to San Lorenzo de Escorial, aka Madrid.

4. Trouble in paradise

From HIV to teenage motherhood and from drugs to theft: the characters have an overload of troubles hanging around them, making the series not boring for a second.

5. Ready steady binge ready

A series where the entire season is available at once on Netflix. Read: no hassle waiting for a new episode every week but bingeing for life. Netflix, how can I love you so much!

6. Murder mystery

A murder that has everything to do with the confrontation between poor and rich students. A murder at a school can only mean one thing: tension and excitement.

7. Fashion muse

The Élite party looks. These are the dresses, bags, and shoes that even Blair Waldorf would secretly be a bit jealous of.

8. Season two

After the first season premiered on streaming, we soon hear the top news that Netflix has ordered Élite season 2 for us.
