Amayzines Wine List: The white and rosé edition

The wine season is open. Now, the wine season at the editorial office never really stops, but we uncork a bottle a bit more frequently when the mercury rises. So on Wednesday around five, we really felt like a glass, and not only did the cork pop, but also the idea of this wine list. From well-priced bottles to a slightly larger investment at a renowned retailer; these are the bottles we prefer to uncork under twenty euros.

Newest discovery: J. Lohr Winery Riverstone Monterey Chardonnay

If you open a bottle of wine at May's beach house, it might just be that the ooooh's and aaaah's fly around you. I did. And I did it myself too. With every sip. A bit pricier, but every glass is a gift to yourself.

Region: California

Price: €17.65

The tastiest rosé: Fleur de l’Amaurigue

Fresh and dry, just how we prefer to enjoy our rosé. Fleur has it. A hint of strawberry, a whiff of grapefruit, and herbs.

Region: Provence, France

Price: €12.50

Super of the super: Marques de Casa Concha

Sounds just as swinging as it tastes. With pear, mango, dried fig, vanilla, coconut, and roasted hazelnut. This wine is rich and full, but if this is your taste, it's a nice one among the wines.

Region: Limarí Valley, Chile

Price: €14.99

A good bargain: G7 Chardonnay Hema

By the way, you have really bad luck if you don't like Chardonnay in our list. I'll treat you to the Chenins and Sauvignons, I promise. But first, this really good bargain from Hema. Full and round, just like we prefer them (and drink them). Tip: you can simply order it by the box on the site, no need to carry it.

Region: Loncomilla Valley DO, Chile

Price: €5.00

In the category ‘always good’: AIX rosé

This is sunshine in a glass, this tastes like summer, this is perhaps the trendiest rosé on earth. Awarded, loved, and with a Dutch owner.

Region: Provence, France

Price: €11.95

A nice French: Gérard Bertrand Reservé Spéciale Sauvignon Blanc

A mouthful, but if you get a bottle from the year 2017, you'll naturally pronounce it like a French person. A Sauvignon as it should be. Fresh, with a slight acidity.

Region: Pays d’Oc, France

Price: €9.00

If you love oak: 446 Noble Vine

Honey, butter, brioche, coconut, if those are the notes of your wine... I ordered a glass on a terrace by the water and I never wanted to go home.

Region: Monterey, America

Price: €14.50

For the fruity types: Penfolds Rawson’s Retreat Semillon Chardonnay

Not too heavy, woody, and full, but juicy and fruity. Made from the two grapes Australia is famous for. And handy, because you can easily throw it in the basket at the AH.

Region: South Australia

Price: €8.49

A popular one from Provence: Whispering Angel

Sounds like it's going to whisper everything to you, it's that good. A rosé in the fruity and fresh category. Santé.

Region: Provence, France

Price: €19.95

Tasty Sauvignon: Whales Tale

When you pour a glass of Whales Tale, you are sustainability itself. Everything at Yealands Estate is recycled (the birthplace of your Sauvignon). By the way, I'm not picky, so besides a full, oaky Chardonnay, I'm also team everything-that-comes-from-the-Marlborough-region.

Region: Marlborough, New Zealand

Price: €12.99
