It was really time to leave those tropical temperatures behind and exchange them for that Dutch, biting cold. And it didn't go smoothly, I can tell you. Jon and I immediately got our little cough back and my lips cracked from misery right away. And this while we hadn't taken any vitamin pills in Curaçao and felt perfectly fine, despite the many cocktails on the beach... Could that vitamin D really be such a miracle cure? Or is it just in our heads? Fortunately, Otis has no issues and laughs from early morning until late at night, with or without a thick winter sweater.
At many people's request, I will reveal my favorite jewelry spot, which I have kept so secretly hidden until now. Not even because I want to keep everything to myself, but rather to protect you from yourselves; I can never leave this candy store without a new acquisition. My addiction started when I saw the makeup artist from ‘Bella Donna's’ walk by with the most beautiful earrings EVER seen. After the recordings, I rushed to her, had two extra holes pierced, and immediately purchased the most beautiful pendants. That collection is expanding every month, and I now need ten extra holes to wear everything... Here it comes: Simplicity. I warned you: after your first visit, you will be hooked.
Otis is completely used to his snacks and finds it a party. Now I must say that I find it quite exciting to put together such a new schedule and especially from when you can give what: one book says bread only from 9 months, while another starts immediately with small pieces of bread. Dairy ‘is allowed’ only from one year, while my girlfriend already gave a cup of yogurt after six months. Fortunately, Mr. has been going to daycare one day a week since this week, so I am diligently sticking to that schedule. I do hold my breath a bit when he can have rice cakes, because he sometimes chokes on a piece of (extremely well-steamed) apple. It seems to be part of it all, and they need to get used to learning to chew and swallow. I just hope that goes as smoothly as possible, please, because otherwise this mother’s heart races a bit too often.
Not a week goes by without me secretly browsing the internet for the cutest new baby brands to make Otis look top-notch. His drawer is already overflowing, so in principle, that's a sign that he has more than enough. Until I stumble upon some cool outfit from a new brand that Otis absolutely cannot do without, or rather his mother cannot... When I saw this lovely outfit from the Dutch brand Phil & Phae, I had to have it for his first daycare day. But the moment I was ready for the photo, he peed all over his outfit during the change (thankfully, mom had a spare outfit), so you will still have to wait for his outfit photo.
