What do you give a one-year-old who loves wrapping paper?
A weekend away with the three of us, you couldn't make me happier. This trip had been planned for over a month and I couldn't wait for it to finally happen. The danger of looking forward to something is, of course, that it can only disappoint, but fortunately, this was not the case at all. Despite the dreary weather, it was lovely to walk through Ghent, we had excellent food, and stayed in a beautiful hotel. But the highlight was the ‘bubble blower’ in the square, where Otis was completely captivated by it. So beautiful to experience everything through the eyes of that little one.
With all the holidays ahead, I'm already feeling a bit of gift stress: where do I find nice and original gifts? And what to give to a one-year-old who actually loves the wrapping paper the most? Fortunately, I was at Lemej the We Are Pregnant fair opposite a super cool online shop: Mink & Moon. They sold, among other things, beautiful children's books made of felt (read: not tearable) and the Wobbel: a kind of balance board that immediately caught my attention. At first glance, it looks like a piece of round bent wood, but when a child walked by, something wonderful happened. He ran towards it and immediately started bouncing on it enthusiastically, turning it over to slide off and using it as a bridge for toy cars. His imagination was running wild and I thought immediately: I have to have this. I couldn't resist putting it in the living room to see what would happen. The result: a super happy and creative Otis. One down, three more cool and creative gifts for family members to go...
As detailed as I always think about my outfits, I think very little about my hairdo. I always just messily put it in a bun or try to fluff it up with a hefty amount of hair powder, and if I'm really in a crazy mood, I use the hairdryer. But when I was at the launch of the Dyson Airwrap last week, a whole new world opened up for me: a curling and straightening device in one, that can even be operated by nitwits like me. The whole audience experienced an ‘It's amazing!’ Tellsell moment when they showed that a strand of hair wraps itself around the device and you only have to press the button for the perfect curl. But a nice straight hairstyle can also be made in no time. So if you suddenly see me with only perfectly styled hairstyles you'll know which product I gifted myself.
